THE COMPANY

Trips from Chios to Cesme and Oinousses

SUNRISE LINES was founded in 2003 with the purchase of the tourist passenger ferry SAN NIKOLAS. Since then, it offers a connection between Chios and the port of Cesme via regular services throughout the year, always with the aim of ensuring a seamless link between the two countries by meeting transport needs.

In 2006, our company took over the management of the passenger-cargo ferry OINOUSSAI III, owned by the “Friends of Oinousses” Association, which operates daily itineraries connecting Chios with the neighbouring island of Oinousses, but during periods of high demand it also operates extra crossings on the Chios–Cesme route. This is a ferry with a capacity of 250 passengers, 25 cars and a single 13m. bus or truck.

In 2026, our new ferry, the APOSTOLOS S, began service on the Chios-Cesme route. After 25 years of continuous effort, perseverance and hard work, our dream has become a reality.

– Daily connections all year round
– Excursions to Turkey
– Daily excursions to Izmir
– Two-day excursions: Izmir – Ephesus – Kuşadası
– Daily excursions to Oinousses.

Focusing on trip punctuality, speed and safety, we strive to continuously modernise our services, with reliability and responsibility at the centre of our efforts. Our passengers have always been at the heart of our journey, offering us their continued support, while we keep working hard to be worthy of their trust.

Even during the winter months, with reduced passengers and the sea usually rough, crossings always go on as normal, provided it is deemed safe, thanks to the expertise of the seafarers of Chios and the seaworthiness of our ferries.

Despite the occasionally difficult conditions and the new context of a deep economic crisis, for the past 15 years we have managed to maintain the continuous presence of the Greek flag on a route of strategic importance, and, most importantly, through private investment and without any state subsidies.
