SUNRISE TOURS began operating as a General Tourism Office in Chios, in 1999. From its onset, the agency’s name was associated with high quality services and reliability concerning all its transactions and collaborations.  

As we have demonstrated over our 27 years in business, our primary goal is not to achieve easy profits, but the business’ long-term viability through its travel services.

Given that Chios is an island located close to the coast of Asia Minor and taking the market conditions into consideration, in 2003, we established SUNRISE LINES LTD for the island’s daily and reliable connection with the port of Cesme in Turkey (just 1 hour away from the city of Smyrna), with two ferries, F/B SAN NICOLAS and Passenger/Ro-Ro Cargo Ferry OINOUSSAI III.  

Since then, we have managed (despite the occasional competition and the at times difficult conditions in both Greece and Turkey) to keep the line running 12 months a year, offering daily connections providing consistency, reliability and continuous modernization of our services. 

In addition, as part of our itineraries, we organise multi-day excursions to the coast of Asia Minor, whilst we also offer holiday packages (at selected 4* and 5* hotels – transfers – guided tours – tickets) at highly competitive prices, tailored to our customers’ needs.

Sunrise Tours Services

Airline Tickets

We offer the option to immediately book domestic and international flight tickets to all destinations. Our office staff are on hand to help you find the best combination of flights and prices.

Ferry Tickets

We offer the option to immediately book ferry tickets for all domestic destinations, as well as for Adriatic routes (from Patras and Igoumenitsa to Ancona, Venice, Bari and Brindisi).

Excursions

We organise guided tours to Chios, Turkey, the Aegean islands and all regions of mainland Greece, in collaboration with reliable coach companies, fully qualified tour guides and selected hotels.

School Trips

We organise school excursions according to the requirements of the Ministry of Education, both in Greece and abroad, with carefully selected hotels and insurance coverage for all participants.

Yachting

As a member of the BWA Yachting network, Sunrise Tours offers comprehensive support for tourist boats. With its integrated online pricing system, it can handle any procedure with great efficiency and speed.

Ferry Tickets
Since April 1st, 2017, SUNRISE TOURS has been acting as a port agency in Chios for BLUE STAR FERRIES, the largest ferry company in the Aegean, which provides fast and reliable connections between Chios and the ports of Piraeus and Mytilene throughout the year.

Furthermore, we are the central agency for SUNRISE LINES, which operates daily itineraries to Cesme in Turkey, whilst we also collaborate with all the companies that connect Turkish ports with the Greek islands. Meanwhile, we have been managing the OINOUSSAI III since 2006, the ferry that operates the regular itineraries connecting the island of Oinousses with the main port of Chios, as well as Lagkada.

Through our office, you can also book ferry tickets for all domestic destinations, as well as for Adriatic routes (from Patras and Igoumenitsa to Ancona, Venice, Bari and Brindisi).

A significant part of our agency’s activities involves booking hotel rooms in Chios, throughout Greece and worldwide via a network of trusted partners. We can offer accommodation at particularly favourable rates, always offering the best combination of value for money, tailored to each client’s budget and preferences.

At the same time, we specialise in securing comfortable and luxurious accommodation at selected hotels in Turkey. Our excellent relationship with the owners of the accommodation we offer enable us to secure both competitive prices and the best terms of cooperation.
Excursions
Through the organised tours held on the island of Chios, mainly during the summer months but also on other occasions (groups, school trips) throughout the year, you can discover the island’s main attractions and places of veneration. A journey through time, enveloped in the sweet scent of mastic and bathed in the light of the Aegean and the local saints. A journey that will take you from the Cave of Agio Galas in the north and the archaic settlement of Emporios, to the Byzantine Nea Moni and the “Kastrochoria” of southern Chios, the medieval villages of Avgonima and Anavatos, the “Mystras of the Aegean”.

A journey to a different “Greece”; unspoilt and traditional in north-western Chios, with the unrivalled wild beauty of Amani, its dense vegetation and flowing waters, the sacred pilgrimage site of Agia Markella, the fortified village of Volissos, the wineries and the lacy shores. A tour of the fishing villages of north-eastern Chios, the villages that were the mainstay of the island’s seafaring tradition, such as Lagkada and Kardamila, as well as the Homeric heritage of Daskalopetra. A guided tour through the narrow alleyways with their stone-built mansions and the heady scents of the citrus fruits of Kambos.

Additionally, SUNRISE TOURS acts as the main organiser of excursions to Turkey. With our one-day and multi-day excursions we organise regularly to the opposite shores of Asia Minor, led by experienced guides and staying at selected 4* or 5* hotels, you have the chance to explore significant archaeological treasures (Ephesus, Pergamon, Troy, Miletus, Aphrodisias, Priene, etc.), major tourist resorts (Cesme, Kusadası, Bodrum – Halicarnassus, Marmaris) and cities that are considered the major economic and cultural centres of the wider region (Istanbul, Izmir). Our tours in Turkey cover a wide area, from the coast of Asia Minor to Istanbul, the Black Sea region, Cappadocia and Antalya on the Mediterranean coast.

Furthermore, throughout the year we organise guided tours across mainland Greece, the Peloponnese and the Aegean islands, in collaboration with reliable coach companies, courteous, well-organised and fully qualified tour guides, and carefully selected hotels that will ensure a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Particularly in recent years, on our own initiative, we have helped our agency’s clients visit the Dodecanese through packages for organised tours, given the lack of direct ferry or air connections to Chios. As a result, Patmos, Leros, Lipsi, Kalymnos, Kos, Nisyros, Symi and even the remote Kastellorizo have become favourite destinations for the people of Chios who have visited them, bringing back nothing but fond memories.
School Trips

Our agency organises school trips according to the requirements of the Ministry of Education, both in Greece and abroad. Armed with a sense of responsibility, our long-standing and extensive collaboration with reliable transport companies and carefully selected hotels, as well as insurance coverage from INTERMERICAN, we always strive to ensure the successful organisation of school trips to the greatest possible satisfaction of both pupils and teachers.

Yacht Agency Services
SUNRISE TOURS is a member of the BWA Yachting network, which boasts with offices throughout Greece and offers comprehensive support for tourist vessels. With its integrated online billing system, it handles procedures such as customs formalities and passport control, bunkering, port stays and island excursions for passengers with great efficiency and speed. Our office has specialist staff who can assist tourist vessels not only in the main harbour but also at other berths around Chios, and provide whatever they may need during their stay on the island.
